Our city leaders do not have their priorities in order. While the residents are calling for more public safety, they have instead chosen to fund:

  • High-paid consultants to teach city workers how to apologize
  • Executive coaching for city manager's office
  • Basic word, excel and powerpoint trainings
  • Executive coaching via one on one sessions

It’s time to make the will of the people clear. We do not want pet projects or the consultant class to steal away our tax dollars.

Tell the Mayor and City Council:

Spend our money where it matters – keeping our families, businesses, and communities safe.

Current PD staffing on payroll is 1,031 sworn.

During the last three years we have lost a net 224 positions, averaging a rate of 74.67 sworn peace officers per year. If the current rate of decline continues, the City can expect to deplete San Jose Police Department sworn officers by 2039.

The number of police officers who graduated the Academy and completed FTO each of the previous three calendar years has not risen to the level of attrition.

While city leaders are spending tax dollars on consultants to teach basic computing skills and "how to apologize" classes to city workers, maybe they can learn this: The people of San Jose want to be safe, they want to fund public safety, and want more officers on our streets. They want cops instead of consultants.

  • Historically, approximately 3 to 4 from each Academy class do not complete FTO. This chart deducts -3 from each Academy class.
  • 3 Academies graduated in the calendar year 2022, SJ41-32 recruits, SJ42-39 recruits, and SJ43-37 recruits.
